Usage Description :
The SNOMED CT UK Drug Extension is created by the import of concepts from the XML format dm+d data into SNOMED CT. To facilitate the use of these concepts in systems a number of subsets reflecting the dm+d concept classes and attributes have been created. The NHS Electronic Prescription Service has published a dm+d Statement of Compliance that is based on use of the original XML format of dm+d. However in future, where appropriate, it is anticipated that other programmes of work within the Health and Social Care Information Centre National Programme for IT may stipulate if there is a requirement to utilise the XML format dm+d data or the dm+d concepts as four-weekly SNOMED CT format of dm+d or if there is no preference. These files identify the concepts derived from the XML format dm+d data.
