All valid VMPs within dm+d that are creams, ointments and gels where the ingredient strength is not specified in the term e.g. aqueous cream. Creams, ointments and gels are identified by the route of administration data and form data for the product. Using the route form combination products are allocated to the subsets. See the SNOMED CT UK Drug Extension bonus files for further information. This subset contains only VMPs that have the non-availability status set to “0” indicating products are available.

The ePrescribing subsets were developed by the now closed NHS Connecting for Health ePrescribing project in conjunction the dm+d Pharmacy Terminology Team and as such suppliers should consult documentation from provided by the Health and Social Care Information Centre before attempting to use these subsets .They should be used in combination with other SNOMED CT subsets to represent instructions for drug administration in secondary care. dm+d Secondary care Implementation guidance and associated data can be found  in the NHS_SNOMED RF1 release from TRUD at: …\OtherResources\DeveloperToolkit\UKDrugbonusFiles  in the NHS_SNOMED RF2 release from TRUD at: …\rResource\UKDrugbonusFiles  from the dm+d website: http://www.dmd.nhs.uk/documentation Two subsets have been produced that enumerate the routes and methods of administration that are being recommended for use in prescribing systems utilising dm+d. The remaining subsets containing dm+d concepts are created to support the Medications Matrix, Marked Modifier Matrix and dm+d Secondary care Implementation guidance.
